Happy Valentine's Day

I'm still in love....
Even after having to rework 12 rows thanks to a mis-crossed cable. It's fixed and I'm not quite at the halfway point on the second sleeve.

Sam and I are still testing the waters a bit on how much we love each other. He definitely needs a lot of attention. I didn't do my set up rows right, so I'm going to have to re do them. I also see a bumpy road ahead for us... cables in the round. Not my favorite. I'm going to have to do a little preliminary work so I can track my cables a bit better. I find tracking cables in the round more difficult than working back and forth, so I just need to pay better attention.

Nothing much planned for today. Some Olympics, some knitting and a quiet dinner at home. Sounds like a lovely Valentine's day to me!

To keep track of your rounds of cable pattern use one of those neat beaded row counter in KnitPicks catalog. Until it comes take a long length of yarn, fold it in half and tie an overhand knot about half inch under the fold. Move down toward the tails and tie another knot about half inch below the first knot. Keep doing this until you have the same number of knots as rows in your longest cable pattern. Use it close to your first cable as a row marker. Each time you come to it move down one loop between the knots toward the tail and cable on the rows you need to. Just be sure you are always moving toward the tail of the marker. When you get to the tail start over with the first loop below the fold.

I knit Sam last year and loved it. I may do his mate later. What yarn are you using? I'm tempted to join the SFC but have to get yarn first. Love your blog.
