I'm off to the grocery store in a minute, but wanted to give a quick update:
The Silver Creek Gansey is slowly progressing. About 2" to go before ribbing on the first sleeve (this will make the sleeves long enough for Matt to wear too):
I did start a new project yesterday. A pair of socks (sorry Lauren). This is a simple slip stitch pattern and the yarn is a lovely Claudia Handpaint yarn (the photo doesn't do this yarn justice at all:
As you can see, it's a fast knit, as I'm already at the gusset decreases.
Well, gotta run! Happy Knitting!
I love the pattern and the yarn really shows it off. Is this pattern in print or is it just a basic pattern you adjusted to make a sock.
ReplyDeleteLove the colours in that sock ... gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYou have betrayed me yet again! We are supposed to present a unified front in our negative feelings against knitting socks!
ReplyDeleteGrrrrr!
Nicole: the pattern was a freebie with yarn purchase, but it's such a simple stitch that I don't really need it. I'll let you have my copy.
ReplyDeleteDave: the colors really didn't photograph well. They are STUNNING in person (it's called "Purple Earth" and a great description... less blue and more purple in person. I'll try scanning the finished sock in to see if I can get a better representation.
Lauren: so sorry, but sometimes a yarn just has to be socks and I really don't have any choice. I still don't love knitting them, does that help?
Is the sock stitch pattern knit 3, slip 1? I'm always looking for a good stitch for handpainted sock yarns and I love the way that one looks. :-)
