One Sleeve (top) Down

One sleeve done and the second picked up. The tubular cast off on the sleeves looks fab, and definitely my preferred way of casting off top down sleeves.

I did play around with the Belted Box Stitch Cardigan from the new Cast On. I even had a similar color in my stash (KnitPick's Wool of the Andes in Spruce). I think the dark green really makes the style and it's my kind of knitting... at least until I hit the belt loops (which is done in an intarsia technique... clever idea, but I'm not looking forward to the implementation).

So I'll try to get some done on the second sleeve of the gansey, plus that's good social knitting for tonight SnB. I'm sure I'll mess around with an other project today as well.

Happy Knitting!

  1. I'm catching up! haha, not really, but I am up to the pattern and I have about 3inches until I split for the armholes (due to my adjustments). Yours is looking great! See you tonight, I think.

Cindy, you can use the double knitting tech. to do those belt loops. If you have anyone nearby with the old Threads (I think it is also in the Techniques compilation)I think the article is called Knitting Round on Straight Needles. It has lots of adaptable techniques for knitter.

The Gansey is looking great! I'm looking forward to following your Box Stitch cardi. The belt loops are clever. Since the intarsia technique is done with the same yarn as the body, I don't think it will be as annoying to do as multicolor intarsia, which I avoid like the plague.
