Four more projects to look back on! Some goodies today!
First up is Mermaid:
Mermaid didn't quite work out. I'm not sure if it's a gauge issue or a weight issue, but it simply doesn't fit me. Mostly in my problem area: sleeves. Have not worn this once. Which is a shame as it was a lot of knitting and Matt gave me the kit as a gift.
Staghorn is a completely different matter:
This is up there as one of the best projects ever! It was so delightful to knit (and a little addictive as I finished it in 16 days). I love how it fits Matt. Love the color. Love the yarn. Love the cables. Uh, love it! I am going to knit myself one eventually, as I really did enjoy the actual knitting (some of my very favorite cable stitches).
I'm also pretty happy with the Afghan Cardigan:
This ended up being just what Matt and I wanted: a simple, comfy, easy care, beat up, toss it in the washer and dryer cardigan. I love the TLC Heathers for afghans, and it worked well for this cardigan. I love the way the pattern looks and I would like to make this again (it's a nice basic just pick up and knit pattern). However, definitely would change it to top down construction.
Hey Teach was an other really fast fun knit:
This is the most flattering design I have ever seen. It looks fab on every body type on Rav. It knit up quickly and I looooove the results. (so much so you'll see an other in Year in Review #5). I am going to definitely make this again in a bright color, and maybe with long sleeves.
So that was a good run there with mostly very successful projects. A few more of those this year... plus some disasters! Stay tuned!!!
I love your year in review- I think this year I made zip as far as knitting. How can that be? I'm going to shoot for something good in 2009!
ReplyDeleteLove love love Staghorn! I'll be knitting one for myself real soon!
ReplyDeleteMermaid looks lovely on you! sorry to hear that it doesn't fit right :(
Hey Teach is awesome! another one in my queue :)
