A Green Landscape

Click to Super Size

The Landscape Shawl is finished, blocked and wearable.

All I can say is that I love it. Look at that lovely shade of green! I don't have nearly enough green in my wardrobe. Unless you count cardigans... this is my only green shawl, at least!

Project Stats
Pattern: The Landscape Shawl a Fiber Trends pattern
Yarn: Brown Sheep Naturespun Fingering Weight in Artic Moss
Changes to the Pattern: Well, I'm not sure, as I didn't really follow the pattern that closely. I used it mostly as a "guideline". I used an I-Cord bind off but the pattern was so straight forward, that it wasn't really necessary to change anything.
Problems with the pattern: ya, like I read it... I got a feel for what I was supposed to do, then just knit. So I don't think there were any issues.
Overall Impression: This is a great project. It gets tedious near the end as the rows get really really long, but since the pattern is pretty obvious, it was just a matter of knitting. I can definitely see me knitting this again.

So it feels good to get something off the needles... uh-oh, I now have empty size 6 needles! That only means one thing here at Chez Park! A new project!! Right? Well, maybe, as I really do have a lot of things I want to tidy up... with a goal of finishing 3 more projects before the year is done.

Today I'm running up to Olde Peddler's Wool to discuss me teaching some classes. Eeeek! We'll decide what and when, then probably talk Floyd Landis and biking (as Darlene and I always do!). If you're not keeping up to date with the Floyd Landis case, it's getting pretty weird... and my heart goes out to him and his family as more and more things are happening that makes the whole thing stink. (Trust But Verify has the most comprehensive updates... and Debby is even quoted in yesterday's post!!!)

Well, off to shower and get ready to head up to Morgantown!

Thank you for letting me know about the quote -- I had no idea til I saw your comment on my blog! I'm very humbled and honored to be on TBV and don't feel worthy of this 5 nanoseconds of fame. :)Please keep me posted on any news you hear at the yarn shop!!!

Your shawl is gorgeous. That is one of my favorite shades of green and reminds me of spring.

I'm not doing any gift knitting except for something small for one person in my family. No one has ever made negative comments, but it's a lot of time and work to put in if you're not sure that things would be appreciated. I need to knit C something soon, as you knit for Matt, but I too am doing most of his Christmas shopping at the local bike shop! And I think that's where he'll be doing most of his shopping for me. :)

  3. The shawl is beautiful. I am thinking about knitting it as well.
I bought the pattern a while ago and think it may be a better first shael than the shawl water which I am having troubles sticking with.
    Have fun at OPW!
